Man struck and killed at busy Elmwood Park intersection

A pedestrian was fatally struck at a busy Elmwood Park intersection Friday night, according to police. 

The accident occurred at the Broadway and Orange Avenue at about 10 p.m., said Elmwood Park Police Chief Michael Foligno. 

Police say the man was struck by a 2014 Ford Explorer that was traveling eastbound on Broadway. 

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, Foligno said. 

No charges have been filed against the driver. 

The victim was described as a Hispanic male possibly in his late 40s, dark hair and a stocky build. He appeared to be approximately 5’7″ in height. He was wearing a black jacket, black jeans and an Abercrombie t-shirt.
