Is this video evidence of why Jersey drivers shouldn’t be allowed to pump their own gas?

Is this why you can’t trust Jersey drivers to be unsupervised at the gas pump?

A motorist fueling up at a Route 4 Lukoil station pulled away with the nozzle still attached, causing the pump to break away from its base and ignite gasoline vapors.

An attendant from the Hackensack station managed to douse the flames after the emergency gas shut off was activated, according to the city fire department.

There were no injuries from the incident and the driver stayed at the scene. Police were investigating.

The fire department released video of the mishap, which occurred Wednesday around 3 p.m. The security footage shows the pump topple and quickly begin to burn.
