Paterson company recalls 438 pounds of uninspected beef dumplings

Roya Food of Paterson is recalling 438 pounds of beef dumplings that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Wednesday.

Halal Manti Beef Dumpling products produced between May 2 and August 28, 2018 are subject of the recall. The 1-pound clear plastic container of raw beef dumpling is marked “HALAL MANTI” and has the instruction “KEEP FROZEN.”

The products subject to recall have the number “EST. 19829” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The items were shipped to retail shops and restaurants in New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Minnesota.

“Establishment 19829” is not associated with Roya Food. Federal inspectors discovered the problem on September 5, 2018.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reaction due to consumption of the products, the announcement said. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase,” reads the announcement.
