Phil Murphy was sworn in Tuesday as New Jersey’s governor, replacing Republican Chris Christie after he served for two terms.
The Democrat’s first official action was to sign an executive order to support equal pay for women.
State Sen. Loretta Weinberg, D-Bergen, quipped, “What a difference three hours make,” referring to her clashes with Christie.
In Murphy’s inaugural address, he vowed to fight “Washington’s all-out assault on New Jersey,” and defend the state against Trump policies, including taxes, oil drilling, and health care.
