Man charged with initiating police chase, fiery crash gets plea offer

JERSEY CITY – The state has offered a plea deal to the man accused of leading police on the high-speed chase across the city that ended in a fiery crash last year, but it remains to be determined if or when the trial will begin for the 48-year-old.

Leo Pinkston, of Jersey City, would face five years in prison under the deal offered by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office for pleading guilty to eluding police. He would also be sentenced to a 18-month concurrent sentence for fourth degree aggravated assault.
