Ice jam flooding keeps Trenton highway closed on inauguration day

A portion of Route 29 in Trenton remains closed due to flooding from an ice jam in the Delaware River, complicating the traffic around the Statehouse with Tuesday’s gubernatorial inauguration hours away.

The highway was shut in the area of Calhoun Street after the Delaware River spilled over its banks Monday. In addition, the exit to Memorial Drive is closed, according to 511nj.com, the state department of transportation’s traffic website.
