Man struck, killed by NJ Transit train ID'd as 24-year-old from Fanwood

The man struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train Saturday night in Elizabeth has been identified as a 24-year-old from Fanwood, authorities said.

Emmanuel Laboy was hit around 11:20 p.m. near Chestnut Street, about a block from the city’s Broad Street train station, a New Jersey Transit spokesman said Monday.

About 600 people were on board the train that left New York Penn Station around 10:53 p.m. Service resumed after being suspended for about 40 minutes.
