Police officer injured in rear-end collision

A Hamilton Township, Atlantic County, police officer suffered minor injuries after a motorist struck the rear of his patrol car early Sunday.

Officer Ryan Brady was driving his marked car on County Route 552/Mays Landing-Millville Road, shortly after 5:30 a.m. when a Hyundai Elantra hit his vehicle.

Both cars sustained significant damage, police said.

The Elantra driver, Marshawn Sudler, 23, of Bridgeton, apparently lost control of his car, police said.

Brady was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment. Sudler was uninjured. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
