Emergency responders pulled two people from the Delaware River on Sunday after their car plowed through a barrier at the riverfront promenade in Burlington City, according to a published report.
Witnesses told the Burlington County Times that the car crashed though metal fencing that separates a parking area from the water.
Crews had to use a ladder to reach the vehicle, which was submerged amid apparent debris from the fencing, the Times reported.
Authorities have not released the conditions of the car’s occupants.
The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office is expected to release information about the incident later in the day.
