JERSEY CITY — A spate of bad news for Jersey City’s police department was not enough to derail Jim Shea’s reappointment as the city’s public safety director this week.
Shea, the administrative head of the police and fire departments since September 2013, will continue in that role for Mayor Steve Fulop’s second term after the council approved Shea’s reappointment on Wednesday by an 8-0 vote. Councilman-at-large Daniel Rivera was absent.
