Dog rescued by firefighters after falling into icy N.J. river (VIDEO)

Firefighters rescued a German shepherd that fell through ice on the Mullica River in Atlantic County on Wednesday, authorities said.

The dog, Quincy, was not injured and returned to his owner, police said.

Quincy fell into the frigid river on the 100 block of Jackson Road, police said in a statement.

The Mullica Fire Department and the Sweetwater Fire Department’s Cold Water Rescue Unit freed the dog using a tethered boat to help pull him to safety.
