The Hillsborough Township municipal building was placed on a “lockout” on Tuesday after township police received a bomb threat.
Police headquarters, also located in the building, received the threat at 1:40 p.m.
A Somerset County Sheriff’s Department bomb detection dog assisted police in a search of the building, police said. The building reopened after being cleared and the incident remains under investigation by police.
Also responding to the municipal building was the Hillsborough Township Fire Department and Office of Emergency Management, police said.
