A Warren County man who challenged former U.S. Rep. Scott Garrett in the general election seven years ago was charged on New Year’s Day with crashing his pickup truck into a Newton house while intoxicated, police said.
Officers determined Tod A. Theise, 55, of Hackettstown, was under the influence of alcohol and had an open container of alcohol in his vehicle, police said.
His pickup hit a High Street home at 2:10 p.m. on Jan. 1, Newton police said in a news release.
