Those soldiers buried at Finn’s Point National Cemetery were honored Saturday during the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony.
In the small cemetery near Fort Mott State Park along the Delaware River in Pennsville Township, there are 800 individual graves of veterans.
There is also a mass grave containing the remains of 2,400 Confederate soldiers who died while being held prisoner at Fort Delaware on Pea Patch Island in the nearby during the Civil War.
This marks the tenth year that Salem County’s Oak Tree Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has coordinated the local Wreaths Across America event at Finn’s Point.
