JERSEY CITY – Employees at a mental health facility hid in fear when a patient’s outburst turned violent earlier this month, prompting police to shoot the man, 911 calls reveal.
Workers at a group home operated by Jersey City Medical Center told police one of their clients suddenly became violent on Dec. 4 because he wanted access to his money. Police who arrived at the scene shot the man after he allegedly threatened the officers with a large piece of glass.
