Prosecutor stops by Steinert High to teach teens how to stay safe at traffic stop

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri and State Attorney General Christopher Porrino visited Steinert High School Wednesday to introduce a new statewide campaign focused on policing and traffic stops to teenagers months away from getting their driver’s licenses.

The campaign, Safe Stop, was introduced to every high school in Hamilton Township Wednesday, and will become part of the New Jersey driver’s manual and driving test.

It features public service announcements from police officers and athletes like former New York Giants linebacker Jessie Armstead and former NBA player and Newark-native Shaquille O’Neal explaining how a safe traffic stop should be conducted.
