Lesbian sheriff's officer lawsuit: Discrimination, retaliation and racial slurs

JERSEY CITY – A Hudson County sheriff’s officer says her superiors were critical of her sexual orientation and made numerous derogatory comments about the Muslim, black, and gay communities.

In her discrimination lawsuit, Officer Jasmine Cruz alleges Lt. Lisa Kaminski and Undersheriff Bruce Lamparello created a hostile working environment after Cruz filed an unrelated complaint with the county against three members of the department in April 2014.
