Honey Bees bring Double Dutch title home to Jersey City

The Jersey City Honey Bees competed in a national Double Dutch competition in Harlem last weekend, and came home with gold.

Several teams of Honey Bees jumped at the National Double Dutch League’s 26th annual David A. Walker Memorial Double Dutch Holiday Classic on Dec. 3 at the Apollo Theater. The tournament consisted of jumpers from all over the country and even some from Japan.

The Honey Bees’ fifth grade doubles unit — nicknamed Team Honey — took home first place in their age group. Team Honey is made up of Amatullah Muhammad, Mattie Agosto, Jakai Hardrick and Janiyah Lee.
