Firefighters from Warren and Hunterdon counties battled an apartment building fire Tuesday afternoon that displaced several families, an investigator said.
One firefighter was taken to an area hospital for treatment of what appeared to be exhaustion, Warren County fire Marshal Joe Lake said.
It was reported about 1:40 p.m. at the Washington Heights Apartments, 19 Nunn Ave. in Washington.
Investigators traced the area of origin to the basement boiler room, but the cause remained under investigation, Lake said.
