Accused getaway driver in robbery, killing ordered held in jail

The getaway driver in a planned robbery that led to a fatal shooting of a Ewing man outside his home in October now faces a murder charge and was ordered Tuesday to remain in jail as he awaits trial.

Damonte Smith, 20, of Ewing, was originally charged with first-degree robbery along with his co-defendant’s Voshon McCray, 20, and Coson Taylor, 19 and , Kyree Hill, 18.
