Man stabbed during fight in Boonton, cops say

A Boonton man was stabbed Sunday afternoon in town after he lost control of a knife he carries for self-defense during a fight, police said.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Cornelia Street after receiving a call at 6:18 p.m. from a 25-year-old man who said he’d been stabbed in the upper torso, Boonton Police Capt. Stephen Jones said in a news release.

The man told officers about 20 minutes earlier he’d been sitting on the front porch of his residence when he saw a man in his 20s come from the backyard of his property, Jones said.
