Driver critical after swerving to avoid deer, hitting 2 oncoming vehicles

A driver was critically injured early Monday when he swerved into oncoming traffic on Route 29 and Ewing to avoid a deer and hit two other vehicles, police said.

The man was traveling northbound on Route 29 between Lower Ferry Road and Upper Ferry Road when he crashed into two vehicles in the southbound lanes, police said.

The man, who has not been identified, was thrown from his vehicle during the collision, police said. Officers and medical personnel arrived at the scene just before 6 a.m., and the man was taken to a nearby hospital.
