A man interrupted a hockey game at a Toms River ice rink Saturday night to taunt the players after he learned his deceased friend’s jersey was no longer hanging from the rafters and became dissatisfied with the skill of the players, police said.
The bizarre incident unfolded at the Winding River Skating Center around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Toms River police Officer Ralph Stocco said in a statement.
The man stormed into the ice rink, made obscene hand gestures at the employees and players, and then ripped off his shirt and continued yelling, Stocco said.
