The last two of three defendants involved in fatally shooting a teenager on a Roselle football field in 2012 were sentenced to prison Friday.
Derrick Dunn, 23, was sentenced to 25 years, while Corey Winston, also 23, was sentenced to 18 years for their roles in the killing of 17-year-old Damel Mitchell during a robbery gone wrong, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday.
Both men must serve 85 percent of their sentences, imposed by Judge Stuart Peim, before they are eligible for parole. They were 17 at the time of the killings, but were tried as adults.
