Fire strikes in residential area at Jersey Shore town

An early-morning blaze damaged at least one home early Friday morning in Sea Isle City.

The fire was initially reported at 5:46 a.m., according to a spokesman for the Cape May County Emergency Management Communications Center.

The blaze was at 91st Street and Pleasure Avenue, a largely residential area in the southern end of the Jersey Shore resort town.

By 10 a.m., the fire was reported to be out, but emergency personnel were still on the scene, officials said.
