Trenton police feed 60 families with Thanksgiving baskets

In years past, Trenton police officers have gathered donations to assemble about 30 Thanksgiving baskets for local families in need.

This year, they doubled down with 60 baskets filled with a turkey and all the trimmings.

“The object was to feed as many families as we could,” Trenton Police Director Ernest Parrey Jr. said Wednesday at the annual pickup. “And they did an outstanding job,” he said of the officers.

Families picked up most of the baskets, with officers – including Parrey – loading them into people’s vehicles. Trenton police delivered some others.
