A few days before Hoboken’s mayoral election, racist fliers targeting candidate Ravi Bhalla were placed on car windshields. The fliers read, “Don’t let TERRORISM take over our Town!”
Like me, Bhalla is a Sikh American who wears a turban to express his religious faith.
The incident came on the heels of racist fliers being circulated in Edison, New Jersey calling for the deportation of two Asian American school board candidates.
