One-alarm fire in Jersey City quickly controlled

Jersey City firefighters made quick work of a one-alarm fire Friday night on Wade Street.

The fire department responded to 11 Wade St., a two-family home near Ocean Avenue, just before 8 p.m. and contained the fire to a first-floor bedroom, Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said.

It was placed under control within 15 minutes, Morrill added.

There were no injuries, however the four adult residents of the first-floor apartment were relocated by the Red Cross, Morrill said.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation.
