Ex-youth soccer league official admits stealing more than $400K

FREEHOLD — The former volunteer treasurer of a youth soccer league admitted Monday he stole more than $400,000 from the organization.

Anthony Gallo, 57, of Freehold Township, pleaded guilty to second-degree theft and faces up to six years in prison when is sentenced Jan. 19, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

Gallo wrote more than $300,000 in checks to himself and his company, Beacon Financial Services, from the account of the Freehold Soccer League. He also made about $120,00 in unauthorized ATM withdrawals.
