When Selection Sunday rolled around, Raykena Brown was not worried in the least.
The Kean University field hockey team was waiting to hear if it had earned the first bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament in school history on Nov. 5. For Brown, a senior forward, it was the last opportunity of her career.
Yet somehow, she knew all along the Cougars were headed to the NCAAs.
“We had a great season so of course we thought, ‘Why wouldn’t we get in?'” said Brown, a Bridgeton native and 2014 graduate of Cumberland Regional High School.
