College student, 20, wins close Jersey City school board race

JERSEY CITY — A 20-year-old Rutgers University student has narrowly won the two-man race for a yearlong term on the Jersey City school board.

Mussab Ali edged out David Miranda by just 68 votes in the race to fill the year remaining on John Reichart’s seat (Reichart resigned abruptly in November 2016). County election officials finished counting all the ballots in the race today.

Mussab won 9,388 votes to Miranda’s 9,320.
