Pedestrian struck, killed on Route 73, cops say

MAPLE SHADE — One person was killed early Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Route 73, according to police.

The crash took place just after 12:30 a.m. on the 2800 block of Route 73, said Lt. Jeffrey Hoch, a spokesman with the Maple Shade Police Department. The pedestrian, whose name is being withheld pending notification of the family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and the crash remains under investigation, Hoch said.

The driver is cooperating with police.
