First Arctic blast of season bears down on N.J., with record cold temperatures

Ready for winter? Temperatures that what will undoubtedly feel like the coldest season of the year has been swapped with autumn on Friday as the wind starts blowing and a blast of Arctic air drifts across the New Jersey region.

Chilly winds from the northwest will blow steadily at 15 to 20 mph Friday morning, and gust as high as 30 to 35 mph, with temperatures dropping below the freezing mark during the day, the National Weather Service said.
