Cops rescue child in crib, sleeping resident from burning home

OCEAN TOWNSHIP — The quick actions of two township police officers led to the rescue of a child sleeping in her crib and another resident as a fire burned in the back of a home early Tuesday, police said.

Officers Chris Clune and Arthur Barnek were on patrol around 3:35 a.m. when they noticed ash and smoke in the air on Maidenstone Drive.
