Polling sites across New Jersey closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday, starting the counting process that will determine who becomes the state’s next governor.
The favorite to replace two-term Republican Gov. Chris Christie is Democratic banking executive Phil Murphy, who outspent and out-polled his main challenger, Kim Guadagno, a Republican who currently serves as New Jersey’s lieutenant governor.
