NEWTON — The former treasurer of the Hamburg Parent Teacher Association admitted Thursday to taking more than $15,000 from the organization, authorities said.
Aimee Lowry-Crane, 40, of Hamburg, pleaded guilty to third-degree misapplication of entrusted property, the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release.
Lowry-Crane, in her plea, admitted to taking the money between June 30, 2014 and March 15, 2016, the prosecutor’s office said.
Assistant Prosecutor Donald Cox said Lowry-Crane returned about two-thirds of the funds when her theft was discovered and has agreed to repay the remaining $5,900 when she’s sentenced on Jan. 26.
