Jersey Shore district that had asbestos problem closed again

LITTLE EGG HARBOR — The Pinelands Regional School District will be closed Friday, this time due to a construction issue, officials said.

A letter to parents obtained by PressofAtlanticCity.com said the latest closure is unrelated to the asbestos issue that forced the school to close for much of last week.

Schools were closed Oct. 3 to 6 as a “precautionary measure” after the results of asbestos air sampling tests showed the school was within federal and state standards.
