Worker paralyzed at construction site gets $17M settlement

CAPE MAY – A truck driver who suffered a broken neck and was paralyzed in 2015 when he was hit in the head by a crane that collapsed at a Cape May construction site has settled his lawsuit for $17 million.

Brian Smith had to have his spine fused and spent 10 months in rehabilitation, according to his attorney Matt Casey, of the law firm Ross Feller Casey.
