Township classrooms celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day

WASHINGTON TWP. – Kindergarten students in Karen Turetzky’s and Mr. Tom O’Brien’s classrooms at Grenloch Terrace recently celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017.

In Turetzky’s class, they were immersed in apples all day long. They started the day be prepping to make applesauce. Later, they read a story about Johnny Appleseed and created apple stamp prints. They even did a taste-test with different kinds of apples.

In Mr. O’Brien’s class, the students were entertained by their teacher, who dressed up like Johnny Appleseed and acted out a story in the school courtyard.
