Jersey City public library unveils this tribute to its first black mayor

The Jersey City Free Public Library is honoring the city’s first African-American mayor in a special way.

On Wednesday evening, the Main Branch library on Jersey Avenue unveiled a permanent collection of memorabilia celebrating the late Glenn D. Cunningham, who served as mayor in the early-2000s. The exhibit, located in the library’s New Jersey Room, features the former mayor and state senator’s personal library and other items.
