N.J. state trooper rescues couple from burning SUV

TRENTON — A New Jersey State Police sergeant helped pull a couple from their burning vehicle after a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

According to State Police, Sgt. James Mitchell was driving east near mile marker 6.9 when he saw a Nissan Pathfinder crash into a concrete barrier in the highway’s center median at 7:44 a.m.
