POLL: Should boy be banned from team because dad allegedly attacked coach?

WESTWOOD – When Peter Iappelli learned his young son would not play quarterback in a peewee league football game last weekend, the father allegedly placed the teenage coach in a chokehold and cursed him, police said.

Iappelli, 50, of Closter, faces charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct. He promised the North Jersey NFL Flag Football league he would never come to anymore practices or games.

But that wasn’t good enough for the league.

“We made a decision immediately to ban him and his family for life,” the league’s commissioner, Fred Kritzer, told NJ Advance Media on Thursday.
