Glimpse of History: Hackensack's lonely submarine

HACKENSACK — The U.S.S. Ling is shown berthed on the Hackensack River in Hackensack in this photo from the 1970s.

According to a June 2017 article in The New York Times, The 312-foot submarine was offered by the U.S. Navy to a group of local veterans as part of a planned museum, but the project fell through when it conflicted with the development of luxury condominiums.
