Contractor admits stealing $1.86M from 30 Hurricane Sandy victims

A home improvement contractor admitted he stole by scamming $1.86 million from more than 30 people whose homes were damaged by Superstorm Sandy, according to a report.

Jamie Lawson, 42, faces up to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to money laundering and theft Thursday in a courtroom in Ocean County, APP.com report.

Lawson went on the lam after being indicted in December 2016. He was arrested in South Carolina in June.
