Trenton teen admits to illegally possessing gun

TRENTON — A city teen pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing a handgun and related charges, Thursday.

Zakir Hazel, 18, of Trenton was scheduled for a detention hearing, but resolved his case with a plea agreement.

On Sept. 26 around 8:30 p.m., Hazel was stopped on the street by Trenton police in the area West State Street and Sanhican Drive. He was in possession of a loaded .38 caliber revolver.

Hazel is expected to be sentenced to a term of probation, after a Graves Act waiver is implemented.
