Tractor-trailer crash shuts down Route 40 for hours, police say

WOODSTOWN — Part of the main road through the borough was shut down for five hours early Thursday after a tractor-trailer jumped a curb and crashed, police said.

Woodstown Public Safety Director Cris Simmermon said the accident was reported at 1:38 a.m. on U.S. Route 40, also known as West Avenue.

According to Simmermon, the 2005 tractor-trailer, being driven by Leon-Herandez, 26, of Vineland, was headed westbound when it left the roadway in the area of 63 West Ave. and traveled along the sidewalk before coming to a halt at 75 West Ave.
