School district raises money for Hurricane Harvey relief

CARNEYS POINT TWP. — With the recent devastation Hurricane Harvey left behind in Texas, the Penns Grove-Carneys Point School District decided to respond in effort to assist the victims.

During the first week of school, the staff committed to donating their spare change. A total of $860.00 was collected and a check was sent to the American Red Cross.

In addition, the district schools plan to compete to see who can collect the most donated school supplies and will be sent to a schools in Texas and in Florida.
