Pocket knife used to stab man multiple times, police say

BRIDGETON — A city man has been charged with stabbing another person in the stomach multiple times with a pocket knife, police said.

The alleged attack occurred just before 4 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Pearl Street and East Commerce Street, authorities say.

The victim identified Lewis Pitts, 33, of East Avenue in Bridgeton as his alleged attacker, according to authorities.

Pitts was arrested on scene and a pocket knife, allegedly used in the attack was found in his possession, police said.
