Pedestrian airlifted after Monroe Twp. accident

MONROE TWP. — A pedestrian was airlifted Monday evening after he was struck by a pickup truck on Route 322.

A Wildwood man was crossing 322 on foot about a half mile west of Fries Mill Road when he was struck by a Berlin resident driving a 2001 Chevy Silverado eastbound, township police said.

The pedestrian was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, Camden, with lower leg injuries and was listed in critical but stable condition, police reported Tuesday.

No summonses have been issued, but the investigation is ongoing.
