Former teacher charged with sex assaults of student is released from jail

ELIZABETH — A Union County judge released from jail a former Elizabeth middle school teacher who has been charged with sexually assaulting a student numerous times over a five-year period in the 1990s.

Robert Goodlin, 74, of Paramus, was released and put on house arrest by Judge William A. Daniel at a detention hearing on Thursday after Goodlin was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a minor among other charges.
